CLASE4ALL’S COMMUNITY PARK IS OPEN

The Invest Local Clase4All group have officially launched their amazing new community park.

The brand-new, state-of-the-art park was designed and planned by local residents. It’s one of the biggest in Swansea, and features the first MaxSite climbing frame in the UK.

When the Clase4All group asked the community how they would like the £1million to be spent, more things for children and families to do was a top priority for residents, and the park was highlighted as an important community space that needed to be upgraded and improved.

The group visited lots of different parks across South Wales, and brought ideas and photographs back to the children and families of Clase.  Working together, the community came up with a list of equipment and facilities that they would like to see in the park.

The group asked three different park designers to come up with final designs for the park, then local children from Clase Primary School had the final say on which park got the go-ahead.

Residents also worked with closely with Swansea council on the project, to ensure that the facility was fit-for-purpose and accessible for all.

Kate McCabe, the Invest Local Officer for Clase said: “The refurbishment of the park is a result of a lot of effort, time and dedication of the Clase4all group. This is a fantastic facility for the community of Clase – and for the wider community of Swansea.”

Swansea East AM Mike Hedges and local radio personality Kevin Johns were on hand to officially open the park.

The Clase 4 All group also run a successful breakfast morning, surplus foodshare, older people’s exercise class, and regular family discos. You can find out more on the group’s Facebook page.
