Martha is the Community Networking and Events Co-ordinator at BCT.
Martha is committed to supporting and uplifting Welsh community voices and is co-founder and co-editor of nawr, a volunteer-run magazine which promotes and celebrates Welsh artists and writers from all backgrounds.
Before joining BCT, Martha completed her PhD at Cardiff University, specialising in Welsh writing in English and studying how social, political and economic change in Wales impacts its literature. While at Cardiff University, she worked as a post-graduate tutor and seminar leader as well as facilitating ‘Wellbeing through Art’ workshops. She has experience in start-up and community-run organisations and has worked in communications in both voluntary and professional roles.
Martha has her fingers in many pies from creative writing to making music to 5-a-side football; she is always keen to get people together and make things happen, particularly when those activities have a social, rather than monetary, gain.
