COMMUNITY NETWORKING & EVENTS COORDINATOR
Salary: £31,000 per annum, full time equivalent
Contract length: Four year fixed term appointment
Annual leave: 30 days plus bank holidays (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: Between 25 and 37 hours (subject to negotiation with the successful applicant).
Base: Flexible within Wales though some travel to meetings across Wales will be required (with expenses paid). We currently have office space in Caerphilly and Swansea that can be used for hybrid working. This post will be easier to fulfil based in south Wales; candidates from other parts of the country are advised to arrange an informal discussion with the Chief Executive to explore how practical their location would be for the job.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Community Networking and Events Coordinator is responsible for helping coordinate BCT’s programme of networking and shared learning between community groups and organisations across all aspects of our work.
The successful candidate will ensure that community organisations and groups we work with are able to access a range of events and learning opportunities. These will be in person and online, and aim to meet their development needs, enable them to share practice and to contribute to policy debates.
Working with colleagues to help scope and coordinate activities, they will be responsible for supporting logistics and communication around all types of events, including major internal BCT events or meetings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing, in collaboration with colleagues and partner organisations, a clear annual programme of learning and networking events which cover all aspects of BCT’s work.
Planning and delivery of BCT’s shared learning and networking events calendar, both online and in person. This will include ensuring that events have clear objectives, an engaging agenda and are accessible to participants in whichever format they are delivered in.
Work in collaboration with communities and external organisations to develop a clear understanding of their learning priorities and preferred methods of meeting.
Supporting the planning and delivery of wider policy events related to our work; ensuring that the plans for the events meet organisational requirements and ensuring that the formats planned allow for full levels of participation.
Working with the Communications Manager, to support the creation of content to promote BCT’s shared learning, networking, and policy events, including online, ensuring that information is relevant, timely and easy to access.
Planning the logistics of major internal BCT events, notably staff away days and annual Trustee away days, both in person and online.
Keeping a record, including writing short reports where necessary of the main outcomes of learning events.
Collaborative, flexible working across the wider BCT team to support key pieces of work and programme initiatives.
