COMMUNITY MOVEMENT CYMRU
Community Movement Cymru is a partnership of community organisations that have come together to:
Support one another and share experience and practice between community organisations
Be an independent, community-led voice to influence local and central government in Wales.
This video discusses the movement in more detail.
WHAT’S HAPPENED SO FAR?
So far, we’ve done an initial round of consultations through workshops and questionnaires with community groups across Wales.
We’ve spoken to over 120 people, mainly from grassroots community organisations, and covering almost every local authority area in Wales. We asked them if they supported the idea of a community movement, what they’d like it to do, what the challenges might be, and how it could work in practice.
On 5th June, we held an event to share the findings of the consultation so far, and to discuss how the movement could work (eg in terms of representation and structure).
WHO’S INVOLVED?
We have a steering group of organisations who are facilitating the development of the movement, including:
· Action on Caerau and Ely (Cardiff)
· BCT
· Caia Park Partnership (Wrexham)
· Canolfan Soar
· Coalfields Regeneration Trust
· Cwmni Bro Ffestiniog
· Dove Worksop (Banwen)
· DTA Wales
· PLANED
· Partneriaeth Ogwen
· Together Creating Communities
· Together for Change
Anyone who’s involved in grassroots community activity is welcome to join the steering group – just get in touch.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
