PENYWAUN CELEBRATE THEIR COMMUNITY’S HISTORY
Penywaun Forward Together have published a book about the history of their community. The book – by local author Robert Cornwall - traces the story of Penywaun from two small family farms to a population of over 2000 people.

One of the first projects for the Invest Local group in Penywaun (Rhondda Cynon Taf) was to provide activities for young people in the community.
LLWYNHENDY HOSTS INVEST LOCAL GET-TOGETHER
Invest Local recently held a cross-group workshop to bring together members of Steering Groups from different communities to share their experiences of and ideas for the Invest Local programmes in their areas.
CARNIVAL BOOSTS COMMUNITY SPIRIT
The steering group of Invest Local Penywaun used some of their Getting Going funding to revive their local carnival, an event that was once the highlight of the community’s year.
LEARNING FROM EACH OTHER
An important part of our Invest Local programme is Shared Learning, where communities get together and learn from each other’s experiences.
FIRST INVEST LOCAL AREA ANNOUNCED
The village of Penywaun in Rhondda Cynon Taf is the first community to agree to become involved in Invest Local.
